The social media trifecta
Over the last few years, social media has learned to stand on its own legs and operate as a communicative and informative go-to. During this time, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram have become the social media trifecta.
What many users love about these platforms, Twitter and Instagram especially, is the ability to stay connected to their favorite celebrities. These stars have taken social media by storm, giving us insight into their daily lives through thoughts and photos.
Everyday they’re hustlin’
But, as we all know, celebrities rarely do anything for free. So, the question has to be asked: what kind of price tag is involved with the promotional posts uploaded by celebs?
A lot, apparently.
It was recently revealed that Selena Gomez is the queen of social media, with her posts on the social media trifecta valued at $550,000 per post when they are displayed on each platform.
InstaFamous
According to Style Caster, this is ten times more than what the average American makes in one year. Gomez also holds the record for the most popular Instagram post, with a photo that received 4.6 million likes.
Gomez, in addition to having an active film and music career, has been making bank with her Coca-Cola and Verizon cellphone ads. The pop sensation has 180.6 million followers on her three combined social media platforms, with 90.5 million just being on Instagram.
Followers for days
Her popularity train is not stopping anytime soon as fans keep coming out of the woodwork. It is reported that she gains an average of 200,000 new followers everyday.
Her posts have gone up an estimated $300,000 in value since December.
As of now, the singer has over 1,200 posts on Instagram, all of which garner over one million likes.
Post engagement
Daily Mail reported that Gomez generally promotes posts including brands that she works with directly (like Pantene and the aforementioned Coca-Cola). What a post is worth is not only determined by how many followers she has, but there is also the factor of how likely they are to engage with the posts and purchase products.
Coming in behind Gomez in social media domination are Taylor Swift, Kendall and Kyle Jenner, Beyoncé, Miley Cyrus, and Rihanna.
