The Importance of Video
Are you aware of the Impression Reach of your posts on social media? Platforms like Facebook have, from the beginning of 2015, begun to heavily favor video content in their news-feed algorithm.
What does this mean?
Well this means that video content will get seen by a larger number of your followers, and this trend will only get stronger because simply put, Facebook makes more money out of video content. In the end they want to overlay ads on content in a manner that is acceptable to users, and since no one really wants to see a ad overlaid on a photo of their loved ones (well this might depend on how ugly they are), it looks like Facebook video content will go the way of Youtube soon in terms of in-video advertising.
OK, but what does this mean for me?
Well thankfully Video is not as scary as it once was, the cost of production has dropped dramatically bringing high-definition and more professional production quality within reach of most marketing budgets. We produce videos for clients which we include in our monthly retainer fees, although we know this is not common in the market, we see it as a platform to express our own creativity and support our clients.
A good example of the work we do is Fitness HQ’s Instagram @FitnessHQUAE, simple videos done a few times a month which support the business’ brand and reinforce the image of the gym via the creativity in production, whilst also directly supporting revenue channels such as Personal Training or just generally promoting the business itself.
